Assembly order
Assembly order in Microsoft Business Central is a simplified function of production in the business system where you can specify included components and resources in an assembly list and then combine these in simple processes into a final product
Production order
Production orders allow you to build a final product based on the bill of materials with the included components together with the resources such as personnel and machines. Production takes into account machines, operation sequences and capacity & needs calculation
Production structure (BOM)
The bill of materials (BOM) is a compilation of all components and resources included in the product structure of an article. When you specify the article to be produced and the quantity, the assembly list is filled with the need for components and resources.
Operation sequences
In Microsoft Business Central, we use operation sequences to show the entire production process.
The sequence of operations also forms the basis for process and capacity planning, planned allocation of material requirements, as well as production documents,
Capacity planning
Through Capacity Planning within the Production module in BC, you get full control over your production and it gives you the opportunity to plan and adjust capacity based on orders, material and resource availability as well as production and forecasts.
Needs calculation
Requirements planning allows you to calculate and plan the total material requirement based on the need for finished goods. You can automatically create purchase and production orders and receive action notifications to balance supply / demand
Version management
Version management is used when an article within the structure is replaced by another article or e.g. when a customer requests a special version of the manufactured product. By specifying a start date on the product structure, you get full control over which version is now valid.
Lego manufacturing
Through a production group that is connected to a subcontractor, we handle so-called Lego manufacturing. BC keeps control of the material sent to the subcontractor and you enter the cost of the production group at the operation sequence level or production group level.
More functions within Business Central Production
In Microsoft Business Central Production and manufacturing there are additional functions such as e.g. Production forecast, Sales and Stock forecast, Units of responsibility, etc.
