Extensions and Addons to Microsoft Dynamics NAV & 365 Business Central

For your Microsoft Dynamics NAV or 365 Business Central business system, you have the opportunity to connect a whole line of additional products from different suppliers.
To NAV they are called Addons and to Business Central (BC) they are called Extensions.
The difference is that Addons is implemented directly into your core code in NAV while Extensions is outside with a link to the code core.
When upgrading BC it usually goes faster than at NAV, when you with BC disconnect from the Extension links, do the upgrade of the core code and then put the Extension doctors back.
When upgrading NAV, the upgrade becomes more extensive, takes longer and becomes more costly for the customer, as the developer who does the upgrade has more code to upgrade.
